The best of youth

I don’t remember how i came to know about this movie, but it never left my favorite list since. Yes, it is a 6 hours movie, but i promise, you won’t regret it. You will embark on the life journey’s of two brothers, Matteo and Nicola. The movie is so real, the hours go by like minutes, you won’t realise they grow older while you watching them. It starts in 1966 and ends in 2003. Even the technology will pass by unnoticed. With 33 wins and 24 nominations, you can put La Meglio Gioventu on your “to-watch-list”!

POLITICS, A SUBJECT THAT CAN UNITE AND DIVIDE

La meglio gioventù

How often do you talk about politics? And are you capable of having a healthy debate without hurting others? Politics is a very tricky subject. When comes the time to vote, you might ask friends and family what they’re voting for. This question can get people animated. Agree to disagree is easier to apply with people who aren’t close to you, but it is harder to know your loved ones are voting for a different world or ideas than you. Regardless, i do think we should talk about it more. Of course, it should be a insightful discussion rather than a fight. Different viewpoints should always be shared with one another. Because if we don’t, we’ll grow even farther apart than we are right now, don’t you think?

OPPOSITE VIEWS YET STILL LOVE FOR EACH OTHER

In this movie, as I already mentioned, you’ll follow the lives of two brothers. They are very different from each other and have different needs and views about the world they both live in. I don’t want to spoil too much, so i’ll try to keep it short describing their relationship and discuss what I find fascinating. Did you ever had a disagreements with your partner, parents or very close friends? How did it make you feel that they were living and thinking completely different from you? Were you able to accept it? Does it still bug you? Do you avoid the subject?

I would love to know how you deal with your closed ones regarding politics. Share your thoughts! And if you watched the film, what did you think of it?
